Cremation
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are cardboard.
(There will be an additional charge of $300.00 for individuals over 300 Lbs. Highland Park Crematory does not accept individuals over 450Lbs).
**Additional charges may apply if death occurred in a county (such as Johnson or Sedgwick counties in Kansas) which charges for the coroner’s permit for cremation.
Basic Cremation

Our charge for basic cremation (without ceremony) includes limited services of funeral director and staff, immediate transportation from place of death to funeral home, sheltering the remains, alternative container, cremation fee, filing veteran’s paperwork, social security notification, preparation and filing of death certificate, obtaining necessary permits** for cremation to take place.
Basic Cremation with Memorial Service

- Basic Services of funeral Director & Staff, including social security notification, preparation of the death certificate, and securing required authorizations
- Transportation from place of death to Funeral Home; beyond 25 miles an additional charge of $2.75 per mile will apply
- Crematory fees for non-scheduled cremation; additional charges will apply for individuals weighing more than 300 pounds
- Care of the deceased until the cremation process is completed
- Facilities and Staff for Memorial Service: Memorial service will be scheduled for one hour at the funeral home chapel Monday through Friday between the hours of 10am and 2pm (based on availability). There is no visitation with the memorial service.

Simple Chapel Service Followed by Cremation

- Basic Services of funeral Director & Staff, including social security notification, preparation of the death certificate, and securing required authorizations
- Transportation from place of death to Funeral Home; beyond 25 miles an additional charge of $2.75 per mile will apply
- Standard embalming; additional charges will apply for non-standard restoration or autopsy work
- Other preparation of the body: dressing, cosmetics, standard restoration, and casketing the remains
- Rental Casket: High quality oak casket with rosetan crepe interior.
- Facilities and Staff for same day visitation and funeral: Visitation and service will be at the funeral home chapel for no longer than 2 hours, Monday through Friday between the hours of 10am and 2pm (based on availability)
- Crematory fees for non-scheduled cremation; additional charges will apply for individuals weighing more than 300 pounds
- Weekend OR Evening (after 5pm) Service add $500
- Extra Hour add $500
Traditional Service Followed by Cremation

- Basic Services of funeral Director & Staff, including social security notification, preparation of the death certificate, and securing required authorizations
- Transportation from place of death to Funeral Home; beyond 25 miles an additional charge of $2.75 per mile will apply

- Equipment and Staff for Visitation; visitation may take place at the funeral home chapel or at the church for no longer than 2 hours, and is scheduled on availability Facilities, Equipment and Staff for Funeral Service: Funeral Service may take place at the funeral home chapel or the church at any time during the week: evenings, weekends, etc. Scheduled based on availability of the chapel/ church. Additional charges for the use of the church/ clergy may apply
