Obituary for Timothy Leon Evans

Timothy Leon Evans was born September 13, 1954 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio to the proud parents of Nathaniel & Vera Evans. Both parents preceded him in death & one loving sister Pamela S. Hamilton, one brother Oscar Evans. Timothy Leon transitioned from this life on Sunday June 23rd surrounded by his loving family & the caring nursing staff at St. Lukes Plaza. Timothy Leon received Jesus Christ early in his life & as an adult he became a member of St. John Baptist Church in-active there however he had a relationship with Jesus.

Timothy Leon graduated from Newark Senior High School in 1972 with 3.5 GPA while in high school he was hired by the US Army drafting department where he did various drafting assignments. After high school our family moved to Kansas City, Kansas. Shortly thereafter he entered the US Navy & served on the USS Constellation & USS Enterprise earning a Humanitarian Service Medal plus a Navy Expeditionary Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge. Tim returned to Kansas City where he worked various jobs, he had his struggles ups & downs however through it all Timmy was blessed beyond measure with God’s protection, grace & mercy. One of his many testimonies would be that God raised him up from some very graved conditions miraculously until God said it was time to come home Tim.
After years of searching his beloved children (Christina & Kevin) found him (2008), loved him, built a close relationship in which he was so very proud of. Also was blessed to meet & love his grandchildren Niayia Boyd, Antonio Boyd, Christian Boyd & Kassadi Fisher.
August 28, 2010 Timmy united in marriage to Leslie and with this union more blessed children were added to the family Dexter & Andrina Gilliam with grandchildren Nehemiah Gilliam, Precious Coleman, Ricko Jenkins & Ramir Jenkins.
Timothy Leon a loving man, a good man, kindhearted, he loved deeply therefore he hurt deeply. Timothy Leon a man with a huge sense of humor, loved him some soul food & apple pie. One thing for sure he loved Go-Chicken-Go.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Leslie Evans Leavenworth, Ks. two sons Dexter Gillam KCK, Kevin Fisher Newport, Rhode Island, two daughters Andrina Gillam KCK, Christina Boyd Las Vegas, NV. One loving sister Nadine Mitchell (Harvey) KCK, one brother Nathaniel Evans Jackson, Michigan, nephews: San Quan Evans, Dallas, Tx. Harvey Mitchell, Jr., Overland Park, Ks. (Angel) Richard Hamilton Jr., KCK nieces: Shonna Funderburke KCK, Tiia Hamilton Overland Park, Ks. Sheila Evans, Warren, Michigan, Angela Harris, Jupiter Florida, 8 grandchildren and great nieces, nephews, cousins & a host of other relatives and friends.
