Obituary for Timmie Barchus Gray

Timmie Barcum Gray, 67, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home.
Tim was born on November 3, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Survia Flagg-Gray and Charles William Gray II. After the death of his mom and due to his dad’s work schedule, Timmie went to live with his aunt, Nellie Gray-Douglas and Uncle, Edward Douglas, Sr. Timmie affectionately called them Mama and Poppa Eddie. Timmie’s mom, dad, aunt, uncle, and brother Richard Woodard preceded him in death.
Timmie attended McKinley Elementary, Northwest Junior High, and graduated from Wyandotte High School, class of 1971. Timmie served in the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Rifle Marksman Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was an excellent cook and a compassionate care-giver. He also worked as a truck driver and in maintenance. Timmie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a faithful member at Reaping Harvest Ministries.
He met the love of his life, Cordolia Jenkins, and they were married in 2014. With this union, he gained not only a faithful bride, but two beautiful step-daughters and 5 grandchildren.
Timmie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Cordolia Gray; step-daughters Shonda Davis (Herb) and Sissalee Davis (Kenneth); grandchildren: Kae’Vion, Kalen, Kennedi, and Keasia Davis and Jeremiah Mansfield; sister Inez Douglas Smith, brother Edward Douglas II (Donna); special nieces: Paula Smith-Carlock (Roy), Rosalyn Smith-Moore (Gerry), special nephew Michael Smith (Candace), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation will be at Highland Park Funeral Home, 4101 State Ave, KCK on Tues. Oct. 22 at 9:30am. Funeral at 10:30am. Burial: Leavenworth National Cemetery.
