Obituary for Betty Lorine King

Betty Lorine King was born May 10, 1942 in rural Chelsea, Oklahoma to Willie Bob and Blanche Wooten. She grew up in the Dogwood Hills of Oklahoma and was the 9th child of 16 children. She attended school in Bushyhead, Oklahoma. On June 8, 1964 she married Joseph William King in Claremore, Oklahoma and soon after, the couple moved to Charleston, West Virginia. To this union, two daughters were born, Rhonda and Tammy.
In late 1965, the family moved to Kansas City, Kansas where Betty resided until 2009, when she moved to Coffeyville, Kansas. Betty passed away on August 31, 2020 in Kansas City, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, June, Red, Shirley, Jimmy, and Darryl; sisters, Maybelle Williams, Wanda Bryant, Alice Gottschalk, Petie Cutsinger, and Linda Fowler; great-grandson, Qorban Pruneda and granddaughter Amy Bigley.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Rhonda James (Kevin) and Tammy Duncan; grandchildren, Kevin James, Jr., Joseph James, Tasha Pruneda, Cynthia Johnson (Eric); great-grandchildren, Andrea, Aeki, McKinzee, and Cadin; Sisters, Mary Nielsen (Cliff), Carolyn Gray, and Loretta Myers; brothers, Kenneth Wooten (Mary) and Wayne Wooten (Linda); and numerous nieces, nephews, and honorary grandchildren.
