Obituary for Marjorie Louise "Hickey" Burris

Marjorie Louise "Hickey" Burris, 70 of Kansas City, Kansas went to her heavenly home on November 26, 2018 at KU Med Center. She was born on March 3rd of 1948 to the daughter of Floyd Clinton and Mary Elizabeth Hickey in Limon, Colorado.
She married Miles "Moose" Burris, Jr. in May of 1975. He preceded her in death June 1st of 2011. She is also preceded by her parents along with her son Miles “Eddie” Burris III in 2012.
She was a member of Argentine Mennonite Church. She loved meeting up with her friends of the local Waffle House and Wolfe’es to visit and tell stories while drinking tons of coffee and tea.
During her life, she worked as an assembler at Toro for several years. Her most recent employment was the Interstate Storage and U-Haul for eight-plus years. She loved her time there meeting tons of different and unique people. She loved visiting with them when given the opportunity and never met a stranger.
Survivors include Duane Lee White, Jr. of Huston, TX, Mary Elizabeth (Daniel) Lamb of Inola, OK, Brian Lee (Alyssa) Burris of Independence, MO., Crystal Leigh (Christopher) Van’Bebber of Kansas City, KS., Teri Brooks of Scottsdale, AZ., Mike (Michelle) Burris of Adrian, MO., Tammy Ann Burris of Scottsdale, AZ., and many grand and great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Norma Awery of Kansas City, KS., Billie Barnes of Jamestown, KS., Ivey Harris of Leavenworth, KS., Darrell (Marie) Hickey of Wichita, KS. and Gladys (Eldon) Stouffer of Salina, KS. She is also survived by her dear friend Chico Gomez of Kansas City, KS. He was her primary caretaker in her home as well as many friends. We all love her and miss her terribly.
A memorial service is planned to take place on December 8th, 2018 at 2pm. Services will be at the Argentine Mennonite Church, 3701 Metropolitan Avenue Kansas City, KS. A graveside service will be done at a later date this next summer in Greensburg, KS. with her family present.
