Reflections of Life
Mr. Harvey Williams
“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the Heaven: a time to born and a time to die,” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
Mr. Harvey Williams was born June 15, 1935 to the late H. T. Martin and Mary Williams in Itta Bena, Mississippi (Leflore County). Harvey is preceded in death by his father, mother, wives, three sons, and his two daughters.
Mr. Williams attended public school in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He later married Ethel Lee Smith and, to this union, three children were born: Harvey Martin, Charles Martin, and Beatrice Martin. Mr. Williams later married Lucille Friend and, to this union, two children were born: Houston Martin and Dexter Martin. Additionally, he raised one child of Lucille’s as his own: Minnie Pearl Friend.
Mr. Harvey worked for the Express Oil Grain Mill until he retired in Greenwood, Mississippi. Mr. Harvey’s hobby was fishing until his health started to fail him. Due to his failing health he moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 2014 with his son, Harvey, and his daughter-in-law, Patricia. Mr. Williams departed from this life on October 6, 2020.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: one loving son Harvey (Patricia) Martin of Kansas City, Kansas, 12 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, 4 brothers: Houston (Mary) Martin, Roosevelt (Essie) Martin, Albert (Katie) Martin, Jimmie Martin, all of Greenwood, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. his loyal friend; B. W. King, and two loyal grandchildren; Teresa Johnson and Willie J. Johnson.
